“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42)

The Lord says only one thing is needed. This one thing is not optional, and always needed. There are many things that are important, urgent, pressing, demanding. But only one thing is needed. In the example of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42, Mary chose Jesus as the only thing in her life. Kings lose kingdoms, the rich have lost money, celebrities lose fame, the powerful lose influence, but this good part is never taken away. What is it? It is Jesus Himself, and fellowship with Him.
